No one was down at the dock yet and I went down early… Lake George reminds me of Michigan only the water is warmer. When I was a kid we used to go to Wapakaneta Lake (or Green Lake) and every morning at 5 or 6am, Uncle Phil would run from his cabin stark naked and yelling all the way to the lake, off the dock and into the water. The first morning, the yell was a bit frightening but by the second morning I smiled in my sleep. So perhaps I come by skinny dipping naturally.
And there I was–Lake George 7 am and no one about. No need to yell and call attention to myself and the lake was so placid, so clear and undisturbed. I was diving through the crisp morning air in moments and gliding through the water to embrace the day with all my breath and limbs and sighing heart.
